GAP YEAR CANADA

Visa’s

All non Canadian Citizens require a Canadian Work Visa if they are intending on working for the season.

All UK work Visa’s are processed through BUNAC. (www.bunac.org)

All Gap Year Canada participants are waived from attending the orientation course in Toronto or Vancouver and can fly directly to Calgary, (please specify this on your BUNAC application form). We provide your orientation package and details here in Banff upon your arrival.

UK and Irish Citizens

Work Canada Section:

Non student work visas

  • Must be 18-30
  • Hold a British or Irish Passport
  • Apply the beginning of January for following season
  • Visa’s under this section run out very quickly, sometimes three weeks after they open therefore you need to be prepared a season in advance if you fall into this category.

Student work visa

  • Must be 18-30
  • Hold a British or Irish Passport
  • Application process opens in January if you wish to depart in October to work in Canada for the following season
  • You must graduate in the same calendar year from University or College course

Gap Canada Section:

Student work visa

  • Must be 18-30 years old
  • Be a British or Irish Passport Holder
  • Have a guaranteed deferred placement to study at a University or College course*
