The closest Airport to Banff is the Calgary International Airport, about a 90 minute drive.
UK students coming to work for a season in Banff, through Gap Year Canada are permitted to fly directly into Calgary. Please note this on your BUNAC correspondence to save you going through Vancouver, or Toronto. All other BUNAC Visa Applicants must enter through Toronto or Vancouver for their orientation session.
Some students chose to travel into Calgary and out of Vancouver or other Canadian Cities at the end of their season to give them the opportunity to see & explore other parts of Canada.
Travel Insurance
You will be required to purchase travel/medical insurance prior to departure. With risks associated with skiing, snowboarding, climbing and backcountry hiking please ensure your policy covers some of the sports you may be doing while here in Canada.
