Ski and Snowboarding Level 1 courses: The CASI Level 1 certification exam for snowboarders is an introductory course designed to teach Instructors how to introduce snowboarding or skiing to beginner riders and skiers.
The CSIA Level 1 course for skiers is 4 days, and is held through the season at all three local mountains. The cost is approximately $310 (£160) for the Level 1 Course. They allow you to retake either the riding or teaching portion if you don’t pass either portion and need some time to bring your skiing, boarding or teaching skills up to level.
Upon securing your Level 1 CASI course, you become a member of CASI and will receive all the rights and privileges of an active member for the remainder of the current season. You can add this qualification to your CV and either apply to work as an instructor for the remainder of your season, plan another season teaching in the mountains, or move on to secure your Level Two.
Level 2 Level two requires more intermediate level of riding and skiing skills, and opens a lot more teaching opportunities. This can be booked on line after successful completion of Level 1.
